The opportunity
Southern Glazer's is the largest and best-known wine and spirits distributor in North America, with distribution centers spanning 44 states, the District of Columbia, Canada, and the Caribbean. Its Phoenix-based 325,000 sq ft facility was spending heavily on electricity and lighting maintenance each month. The original layout used T5HO high-bay fluorescent fixtures that no longer fit the facility's needs. Cost efficiency is central to success in the beverage industry, and Southern Glazer's knew a new energy-efficient design with an intelligent system could optimize the facility and maximize productivity.
What we did
Combining modern technology with hands-on expertise, Relumination designed and installed an Intelligent LED Lighting Solution built specifically for the Southern Glazer's facility. Switching to a Digital Lumens intelligent LED system reduced lighting energy consumption by 91.5%, and the daylight-harvesting element increased savings by a further 23.5%.
The result
Beyond the energy reduction, the upgrade improved worker efficiency, productivity, and safety, turning a costly, aging lighting system into a modern, self-optimizing asset.
