The Bristol Marriott Hotel replaced 145 50-watt halogen lamps throughout the fitness center with 4-watt Greenled Anatares LED lamps, and as the general manager hoped, they were able to turn the air conditioning down and make a more comfortable-feeling environment for their guests. The old halogen lamps took 14 watts of energy per halogen lamp to keep the air conditioning down enough for the room to feel comfortable. Thanks to the retrofit, the hotel will save $8,000 on electricity and reduce its electricity consumption by 43,822 kWh annually. According to the case study, the hotel was looking into installing LED lighting in the hallways and bathrooms, and was looking into LED lighting options for its other locations around the United Kingdom.
