Relumination Energy-Efficient Lighting Solutions to Dramatically Reduce Desert Botanical Garden’s Energy Use

Phoenix, AZ – May 13, 2014 – The Desert Botanical Garden has partnered with Relumination, LLC, the energy-efficient lighting solutions company, to update both interior and exterior lighting to significantly reduce energy and maintenance costs. As a result, the Garden expects to reduce lighting energy consumption by 74%, saving an estimated $30,000 annually.

In addition to the energy savings, the long lifespan of the LED lights and the ability to recycle them will mean less material in landfills. This project aligns with the Garden’s commitment to and recognition of sustainability as a holistic process that encompasses environmental, social, and economic performance. The money the Garden saves on electricity will provide more resources for important programs. The environmental impact contributes to conservation of desert plants, and, best of all, this is a switch that anyone, from an individual to a corporation, can implement and know they are making a difference. “I love projects that are win-win-win, for the Garden, our project partners and, most importantly, the desert plants and habitats that make Phoenix such a special place to live,” said Dr. Kimberlie McCue, Program Director, Conservation of Threatened Species and Habitats. “Relumination has brought a fantastic all around winning project to the Garden that will literally shine a light on how the simple act of changing a light bulb can help conserve our world.”

Relumination worked closely with the Garden’s exhibits department to ensure both trail safety and exhibit aesthetic needs were met with the energy-efficient lighting solutions. After onsite testing, Relumination provided a full lighting energy consumption assessment, recommendations and implementation plan. A rebate from SRP will cover 20% of the project cost.

Relumination will replace 1,573 incandescent, halogen and HID (high-intensity discharge) lamps with LED lamps. The changes will save 247,931 kWh of electricity a year, equal to removing 70 tons of waste from our landfill, the carbon sequestered annually by 143 acres of US forests, the CO2 emissions from electricity use of 24 homes or the greenhouse gas from 36 cars.

”The Desert Botanical Garden is the perfect partner for Relumination, as we are able to work together to ensure the wonderful ambiance and natural experience of the Garden is enhanced with better lighting, as well as dramatically reduce waste and carbon for our amazing Arizona desert,” said Daniel Henderson, CEO and founder of Relumination.

About Desert Botanical Garden – A “Phoenix Point of Pride,” the Desert Botanical Garden is one of only a few botanical gardens accredited by the American Association of Museums. It is a privately funded, non-profit organization and depends on revenues from admissions and gift shop sales, as well as contributions from individuals and businesses to fund its programs of environmental education, plant conservation and research.

Relumination Selected to Upgrade Macy’s Lighting in Tempe

macys2Relumination is pleased to announce that we have been selected by Macy’s in Tempe, Arizona for a project to upgrade parking structure lighting at their Credit Card Services building.

Proper lighting is essential for employee safety, from having adequate lighting to park without hazard to having a sense of security walking to the car, a well lit structure is mandatory. Macy’s has decided to upgrade the current lighting in order to increase employee safety while decreasing energy expenditure and maintenance costs.

This lighting update will save the company more than 100,000 kWh of electricity per year and will pay for itself within just 2 years. LED lighting is not only energy efficient, but  as you can see, it saves money as well. In fact, it’s estimated that LED lights conserve about 50% to 90% more energy than traditional lighting. This is why commercial LED lighting is becoming so popular.

In addition to these benefits, we estimate that once the project is completed there will be no need for maintenance for at least 10 years. This is the fourth time we have been selected to work with Macy’s and we look forward to providing them with safe, energy efficient lighting in their employee parking garage.

Relumination LED Lighting Enhances Parnian Exquisite Furnishings Showroom for Better Customer Experience

PHOENIX, AZ–(Marketwire – Oct 10, 2012) – Relumination, a leading provider of LED lighting solutions for businesses, helped Parnian significantly reduce energy use and provide a better shopping experience for the affluent clientele visiting the 15,000 square foot unique showroom filled with high end contemporary furniture and artwork.

Relumination provided a turn-key solution of LED lighting products, installation and utility rebate administration. Relumination replaced all the halogen and incandescent showroom lighting, including main showroom downlights, spotlights and decorative lamps.

The new LED lighting installed by Relumination allows buyers the ability to better distinguish the details of Parnian’s hand-crafted contemporary furniture and artwork. The LED lights emit a pure white light, improving the customer’s ability to differentiate variations of colors and the fine points of furnishings Parnian creates and imports from around the world. The established prominent retailer and manufacturer also benefits from significant savings in energy use and costs with the new LED lighting.

“It is core to our family business that we provide the highest quality of home and executive office furnishings to our valued customers, while we also do more to help reduce our carbon footprint in the 21st century,” said Leila Parnian, vice president of Parnian. “We have integrated our beautiful showroom experience with energy efficient LED lighting along with Arizona’s first offering of LEED Certified environmental high end furnishings made of bamboo, old barn wood, refurbished woods and recycled metals.”

Leila Parnian, who graduated from Arizona State University in 2009 with a Masters in Urban and Environmental Planning, is using her education in sustainable development by finding ways to eliminate waste at the family-owned business. “We have reduced our electric bill by nearly 50% because of the new high-quality lighting, which also reduced our use of air conditioning,” said Leila.

“The amount of lights used in the luxurious showroom was wasting energy and generating tremendous amounts of heat,” said Daniel Henderson, CEO of Relumination. “We were able to replace all the current fixtures with LED lamps that provide a superior quality of light, reduce the temperature of the showroom and significantly reduce the maintenance of lighting at the showroom. We calculated a return on investment for the upgrade at 100% in less than nine months.”

Parnian, an internationally recognized furniture showroom and manufacturer, was founded in 1977 by Architects Abdolhay and Parvaneh Parnian. The Arizona family-business was passed to second generation, Ali Parnian and Leila Parnian, who continue the tradition of marketing quality furnishings from around the world, along with their father’s designed furniture, Leila’s artwork and now environmentally friendly creations represented with exquisite ambience in their architecturally renowned showroom.
